Kathmandu, October 6 — India has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extensive damage caused by the recent heavy rains and flooding across several parts of Nepal.
In an official statement, the Government of India said, “The loss of lives and damage caused by heavy rains in Nepal is distressing. We stand with the people and Government of Nepal in this difficult time.”
Reaffirming its close ties with Nepal, the statement further added, “As a friendly neighbour and first responder, India remains committed to providing any assistance that may be required.”
Continuous rainfall over the past few days has triggered landslides and flooding in multiple districts of Nepal, resulting in casualties, displacement, and significant damage to infrastructure.
