Kathmandu: The Department of Agriculture has urged farmers to apply best precautions for the preservation of crops, stored and planted, citing the changes in weather in recent days.
The Department has asked farmers to protect their grains and crops after harvesting, as recent days have witnessed more than average rainfall before the onset of the monsoon season.
The Department has suggested farmers for regular monitoring of foodstuffs and not to stock grains in the farms after harvesting them.
Likewise, the Department has asked farmers to collect fruits and vegetables in the late morning and supply to the market, adding that the upcoming weeks will witness storms, lightning and hailstones in the afternoon.
