Kathmandu, June 20: Some areas of Koshi Province in Nepal are currently experiencing monsoon effects.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division shared that other areas are under partial influence of local and easterly winds.
According to the Division, the Koshi Province and the hilly and mountainous areas of other provinces are generally cloudy. Other parts of the Terai are mostly clear. Light rain is occurring in a few places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
This afternoon, the mountainous and hilly areas of the country as well as the Terai areas of Koshi Province will generally be cloudy.
The Madhesh Province will see partial cloud. The weather will remain mainly clear in other Terai areas. There is a possibility of moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning in some places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, a few places in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and one or two places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
There is also a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of the Terai in Koshi Province and in one or two places in Madhesh Province. Tonight, the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as the Terai region of Koshi province, will generally be cloudy.
In Madhesh province and other hilly and mountainous areas, it will be partly cloudy, while the rest of the Terai regions will mainly be clear.
As shared, moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning are likely to take place at some areas in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in the mountainous areas of Lumbini and Karnali provinces.
There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning in Madhesh province, and in some places of the Koshi plains. Heavy rain is also possible at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the Terai region of Koshi province, it is stated.
