Kathmandu, June 21: Monsoon winds are presently impacting various locations in Koshi province, while western and local winds continue to influence other regions of the country. The Weather Forecasting Division reports that the Himalayan and hilly areas are generally overcast, with partial cloudiness observed in other plains. Light rain is occurring in some areas of the hills within Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali regions.
The division forecasts that the Himalayan and hilly regions, as well as the Terai region of Koshi, will remain generally cloudy this afternoon. Partly cloudy conditions are anticipated in the Terai regions of Madhes Province, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, while the weather is expected to be predominantly clear in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim Provinces.
Similarly, this afternoon, there is a chance of moderate rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in certain areas of the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi Province, as well as in some parts of the Himalayan and hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces. The division has indicated a possibility of heavy rain in one or two locations within the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi province.
Furthermore, there is a risk of a heat wave in some areas of the Terai region of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim Province, with temperatures expected to rise in certain locations of the Terai region of Bagmati and Gandaki Province. Tonight, the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki regions, along with the Terai region of Koshi, are expected to be generally cloudy. Partly cloudy weather is anticipated in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Madhes, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, while the plains of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces are expected to remain mainly clear. Moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning may occur in some areas.
