Kathmandu, July 12: Defending champion Argentina has entered the semifinals of the FIFA World Cup by defeating Switzerland 3-1 today. Argentina entered the semifinals of the World Cup by routing Switzerland in the match held at the Kansas City Stadium in the United States. Argentina’s Alexis McAllister, Julian Alvarel and Lautaro Martinez contributed one goal each to secure semifinals.
It was Alistair making a goal with header in the 10th minute of the game. It followed equalizer by Switzerland’s Dan Ndoye in the 67th minute.
With double yellow cards to Brail Embolo, Switzerland was bound to play with only 10 players since 72nd minute. As both countries had equal scores, the match took extra time.
Argentina made another goal by Alvarel in the 112th minute, while Martinez had a shot, leading Argentina to the victory. With this, Argentina faces England for the final.
