Nepalgunj, Aug. 20: The flight from Nepalgunj to Pokhara which was suspended for long is being resumed from the second week of September.
The Buddha Air, a leading private airlines company in the country, announced to resume the flight in Nepalgunuj-Pokhara route from September 16.
Station Manager of Nepalgunj branch of the Buddha Air, Binit Bikram Shah, shared that a decision to restart the flight from Nepalgunj to Pokhara was taken following the demand from the passengers.
The Nepalgunj-Pokhara route connects India’s Uttar Pradesh to the tourist city of Pokhara, and is an easy flight to the tourists from the Indian cities close to the Nepalgunj airport.
The flight from Nepalgunj to Pokhara was suspended some four months ago, citing fuel price hike and decrease in Indian pilgrims. However, the number of religious tourists has also increased in the recent weeks, stimulating the demands for aviation service.
Shah stated that the flights shall take place every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday in a week. The tourism fraternities have expressed their happiness after the flight resumption along the route, stating that it would promote tourism in the two cities.
