KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) is publishing the final list of candidates participating in the upcoming by-election scheduled for April 23.
As per the EC, election symbols will also be given to the candidates today. Following the allocation of election symbols, the formal process for the April 23 by-election will also commence.
The Tanahun-1 constituency was vacated after its representative, Ram Chandra Paudel, who was elected from the constituency in the election held on November 20, 2022, got elected as the country’s President.
Similarly, Bara-2 representative Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav was elected as Vice President, and Chitwan-2 representative Rabi Lamichhane was dismissed as a Member of Parliament due to citizenship disputes.
