Kathmandu: The government has authorized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to sign on the agreement relating to the immunity of visa (diplomatic/government/ service passport-holders) between Nepal and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers on April 7 decided to allow the participation of Nepal in the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UN PFII) event scheduled to be held on April 17-23 in New York of America.
According to the Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, the delegation to the UN event will be led by the Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration.
Likewise, the meeting promoted Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sandeep Bhandari, Sudip Giri, Meera Chaudhary, and Tek Bahadur Tamang to the posts of Additional Inspectors General of Police.
Similarly, one brigadier general of the Nepali Army to the post of major general and nine lieutenant colonel to colonels.
The Cabinet on the recommendations of the Public Service Commission agreed to appoint six persons on the posts of joint secretary or the posts of the same level for various groups and sub-groups of the Civil Service. It also endorses a directive for providing educational fellowship to children of civil service employees.
More, the meeting decided to declare Padam Kumar Limbu from Tehrathum who died after being injured in the protest against the naming of Koshi Province a martyr and provide financial assistance of Rs one million to the bereaved family.
