KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has approved the mobilization of Nepali Army in the November 20 election to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly to conduct the polls in a free, fair and peaceful environment.
The Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas, said that President Bhandari issued the approval upon the recommendation of the Council of Ministers on September 11 and the letter sent by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba regarding the recommendation on the same day.
The National Security Council on September 2 had also recommended for the same to the Council of Ministers.
The President granted the approval to mobilize the army during the upcoming election as per Article 66 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, said the Office of the President.
