Kathmandu, Oct 19: The USAID Nepal is conducting a market research to understand capabilities of eligible local Nepali organisations, it has been said. The research starts from today and lasts until 9 November, 2023 (5pm Nepal time).

The research is as part of USAID Nepal’s process of collecting information to support an anticipated activity design “USAID Counter Trafficking in Persons”, said the USAID Nepal.

The anticipated activity aims to build on the current counter trafficking in persons programme (CTIP) to support and strengthen the Government of Nepal (GoN), Civil Society Organisations and private sector stakeholders partnerships to prevent trafficking, protect victims and prosecute trafficking cases in vulnerable geographies in terms of sources, transits, destinations in line with the federal context of Nepal, according to a statement issued by the USAID Nepal.

Furthermore, it has objectives to consolidate the GoN and justice sector actors’ capacity in implementing prevention, protection, prosecution related activities through the expansion of the partnership among relevant stakeholders.

The activity is intended to support the CTIP eco-system with the aim of reducing demands and incentives for trafficking in persons, reducing the vulnerability of the communities at risk and preventing exploitation, consolidating the survivor-centered protection systems and support durable reintegration, and strengthening multi-stakeholders cooperation and expanding the evidence base for trafficking in persons.

Eligibility for submitting responses is as follows

  1. Must be local actors in Nepal.
  2. Entity should be legally organised under the laws of Nepal.
  3. Entity has its principal place of business or operations in Nepal.
  4. Entity is majority owned and controlled by individuals who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of Nepal.
  5. Entity is managed by a governing body, the majority of whom are citizens or lawful permanent residents of Nepal.

If entity has projects, offices, and registration in other countries, key management decisions should be taken by the office located in Nepal.
