Kathmandu, Jan 17: Visiting Assistant to the Administrator of the USAID’s Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance (DRG) Shannon Green met with elected parliamentarians and women leaders of Nepal.

The meeting saw the sharing of the participant’s triumph and vision for Nepal, and their struggle for ensuring their space in Nepal’s political sphere, it has been said.

Green also met with Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Ganesh Pandey and CEO of the E-governance Commission Dipesh Bista. On the occasion, Green reaffirmed USAID’s commitment to bolster Nepal’s accountability mechanisms and recognizing its progress toward Open Government Partnership membership, said the Office of Prime Minister.

During her visit, she also made a contact with marginalised women farmers and local leaders while taking stock of the impact of USAID’s local works in Nepal.
