Jhapa, Jan 19: Cases of measles have been detected in two out of 15 local levels in Jhapa district.
Immunization Officer at the District Health Office, Jhapa, Raj Kumar Pokharel, said cases of measles were detected in Jhapa rural municipality and Birtamod municipality.
He shared that seven measles cases were recorded in two weeks in the district – six cases in Jhapa rural municipality and one in Birtamod municipality.
Three members of a single family were also found infected with measles in course of conducting blood test ar Sharanamati health post.
Similarly, a five-year-old girl of Birtamod municipality-3 was found suffering from measles. The measles was confirmed on the girl in course of blood test at Birtamod Municipal Hospital who was brought to the hospital two days ago for treatment. The girl has now been kept in isolation.
