KATHMANDU: The Pokhara chapter of the Hotel Association of Nepal has urged the Embassy of China in Kathmandu to include Nepal in its tourist destination list.
In a request letter to the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, the Association’s Chairman Laxman Subedi has stated that tourism entrepreneurs are ready and hopeful to welcome Chinese tourists in Nepal in 2023.
In his letter, Subedi stated that the Association is saddened as Nepal was not included in the Chinese government’s tourist destination list.
After a gap of three years after the COVID-19 pandemic, the government of China has released the name of 20 countries as the tourist destinations for its citizens.
In the letter written to the Embassy, the Association has asked the Chinese side to rethink its decision and include Nepal in the tourist destination countries’ list.
Subedi said that the Chinese Ambassador has responded positively to the letter of the Association.
