At least 26 people were injured in the 6.4 magnitude earthquake in the Philippines. A 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck the northern Philippines at 10:59 p.m. on Tuesday, forcing the closure of an international airport, sending panicked residents onto the streets and causing extensive damage to hospitals, international media reported.
At 10:59 p.m. local time Tuesday, the quake near the highland town of Dolores was felt as far away as the capital, Manila, more than 330 kilometers (205 miles) to the south.
Police and civil aviation officials said at least 26 people were injured in President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s home province of Ilocos Norte, where the international airport in the capital Laoag was ordered to temporarily close on Wednesday due to earthquake damage.
