Janakpur : The Madhes province government has mobilized health officials against the spread of cholera in Birgunj city. Division Chief at Ministry of Health and Population in the province, Dr Bipin Kumar Jha, and public health officer Santosh Kumar Thakur left for Birgunj after the direction of Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Development, Saroj Kumar Yadav, who is also the Acting Chief Minister in the province.
The secretariat of Chief Minister, Satish Kumar Singh, informed that CM Singh was currently in Malaysia visit, but the adequate coordination was in place for the mobilization of health officials in the cholera-hit area. Utmost efforts would be made to curb further spread of cholera.
Similarly, Minister for Population and Health, Shatrudhan Prasad Singh, directed the health officials and workers to pay heed to the affected region by establishing a proper coordination with the ministry. Three persons were detected with cholera in Birgunj on Friday.
