Kathmandu, March 8: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has won the election in 119 constituencies so far in ongoing vote counting for the March 5’s election to the House of the Representatives members.
As per the result updated at 5:00 pm, RSP candidates are maintaining their lead in six constituencies, according to the Election Commission. Out of the results of 155 constituencies published so far, the Nepali Congress (NC) candidates were elected in 17 constituencies.
Similarly, the CPN (UML) has won seven seats and is leading in 3 constituencies. The EC reported that seven candidates of the Nepali Communist Party have won the election so far.
Likewise, the Shram Sanskriti Party has emerged victorious in three constituencies while the Rastriya Prajatantra party and an independent candidate secured victory in one constituency each.
Under the proportional representation (PR) system, vote counting has crossed over 4.53 million till 5:00 pm, according to the Commission. Out of 4,530,913 votes counted so far, the RSP is leading with 2,239,870 votes. The Nepali Congress follows with 760,485 votes.
The CPN (UML) has received 646,770 votes while the Nepali Communist Party got 304,063 votes, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party 163,151 votes and Shram Sanskriti Party 107,032 votes.
