Parsa, Aug 4: The District Police Office, Parsa has requested everyone to disseminate only verified information on the sensitive issues like crimes against children. The information which is not verified from the official source must be discouraged, it added.
Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Parsa, Chakra Bahadur Malla, urged all media and journalists to disseminate only facts confirmed by the official sources. Unconfirmed and misleading information should not be disseminated, for its hampers ongoing investigation, according to him.
A complaint was registered at the District Police Office that a crime was committed against a girl child from Radhemai Tole, Birgunj Metropolitan City-13. The police responded promptly with the arrest of Nikhil Singh Rajput. Rajput is being investigated for crimes against child as per the existing law.
Spread of speculation, rumour and one-sided information is detrimental to investigation process, the police reminded, adding that impartial, independent and confidential approaches are established principles and process of evidence gathering.
Spokesperson Malla further said such activities also hinder the rights of the concerned parties and create utter confusion among the public.”The police are committed to conducting the investigation in a fair, transparent and legal manner. Once the investigation is over, details would be made public as per law,” he shared.
