New York, Sept. 23:Minister for Foreign Affairs Shirsir Khanal and U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker held a bilateral meeting in New York, USA on Tuesday.
Minister Khanal, who is currently in New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, held talks with Under Secretary Hooker on the sidelines of the event.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a range of issues relating to bilateral relations between Nepal and the USA, according to the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations in New York.
They also deliberated on ongoing relief distribution, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in areas affected by the August 26’s Bhotekoshi flood.
Discussions were also held on continued U.S. support for Nepal’s reconstruction efforts, the Permanent Mission said.
Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, Permanent Representative to the United Nations Lok Bahadur Thapa and other senior officials were present during the meeting.
