Kathmandu : The government has decided to suspend the activities of National Private and Boarding Schools’ Association (N-PASAN) until further decision, citing its repeated failure to comply with the government directives.

In a public notice on Friday, the Ministry of Home Affairs said the N-PABSAN’s activities were suspended in accordance with Clause (2) of the National Directive Act-2018 BS. The Ministry argued the officials of N-PASAN were found acting against the organisation’s statute and objectives.

Regarding this issue, the Ministry had on October 9 sat for discussions with the concerned stakeholders, urging that the educational organization should be in accordance with the Act and the directives issued by the Ministry on November 28, 2025. In the letter, the Ministry stated that its request was not implemented, prompting it to take such action.

With the government’s move, any activities to be carried out under the banner of N-PABSAN either by any groups or factions shall be considered illegal and will be subject to further action under prevailing laws. It is noted that following the internal disputes, two parallel committees led respectively by Subas Neupane and Gita Rana Chhetri had been operating in the organisation.
