Kathmandu, Nov 20: On the occasion of the 34th World Children’s Day, USAID Nepal has highlighted its dedication to fostering a bright future of children in Nepal through programmes promoting their health, education and wellbeing. These programmes are being implemented in partnership with government and local organisations. According to USAID Nepal, its partnership works to improve the nutritional status of women and children within the 1,000 days’ period from conception until the child reaches 24 months of age.
Besides promoting nutritional well-being, USAID is also committed to increasing the number of fluent readers among third graders, and has already achieved an eight percent increase. These efforts are helping children develop the literacy skills they need to succeed in school and beyond, it said.
USAID’s commitment to children in Nepal is evident in its partnerships with government and local organisations while expressing the hope that every child has the potential to thrive, and it is committed to working with the Government of Nepal and local partners to make this potential a reality, according to USAID.
