Pokhara, Aug 27: Over 200 Access students and teachers gathered in Pokhara for a three-day Access Youth Leadership (AYL) Camp. The camp, held as part of the two-year-long Access Programme, brought together a total of 225 participants from all over Nepal.
These young participants attended 400 hours of learning, engaging in team-building activities, model elections, drama competitions, and more, and honing their leadership skills in after-school and a close-knit camp environment.
The Access Programme, funded by the U.S. Embassy’s Access Programme, aims to empower students aged 13 to 16 from underprivileged backgrounds by providing a strong foundation in English language and leadership skills. Since its inception in February 2011, the Access Program has expanded to 31 districts in Nepal, with more than 1,700 students expected to graduate by September 2024.
