Pokhara: The U.S. Embassy in Nepal, in partnership with Women Leaders in Technology (WLiT), has kicked off the Pride Tech Kiosk Roadshow, an initiative to empower LGBTQIA+ youth in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) fields. The first event, held in Pokhara, introduced 20 LGBTQIA+ participants to a variety of tech skills and career opportunities.
They engaged in hands-on workshops on robotic car coding and 3D printing, led by experienced tech leaders. The event provided these participants, many of whom are new to technology, with the practical skills to effectively use digital tools for personal and professional growth.
US Embassy has hoped this roadshow inspires participants to consider further education or careers in technology. The next stops in the Pride Tech Kiosk Roadshow are scheduled for Janakpur and Kathmandu.
