Myagdi, Feb 4: CPN (UML) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said priority would be given for overall development of Myagdi. At a programme organized at Beni municipality-4 Singa and Tatopani this morning, Chair Dahal mentioned that Myagdi would be prosperous through the development of physical infrastructures and tourism.

“I had visited Tatopani kunda (pond) here with family six years ago. We have given continuity to activities by managing budget in some projects—Beni-Darbang-Dhorpatan road, protection and promotion of Tatopani kunda and control of river encroachment as demanded by locals during my visit”, he shared.

Chair Dahal expressed commitment to take initiative to install bailey bridge over Myagdi river as an alternative to Phaperkhet’s landslide, which has become major problem of Beni-Darbang road.

On the occasion, Gandaki Province Assembly members– Resham Bahadur Jugjali and Hari Bahadur Bhandari, Chairperson of Beni municipality-4, Ana Bahadur Khadka (Bhagawan), and Chairperson of Singa Tatopani Kunda Management Committee, Krishna Khadka, briefed Chair Dahal about various issues including development construction activities of Singa and Tatopani.

Meanwhile, Chair Dahal met with family members of martyrs at Beni municipality-4 Thulokhola, Singa and Beni and said the contribution of martyrs would always be highly valued. Similarly, farmers of Singa asked Chair Dahal to make arrangement of production-based subsidy, easy access to market of their production.
In response, he said Rs 7 billion was allocated for agriculture grant during his premiership, adding he would draw government’s attention about its implementation status.
