Kathmandu — The U.S. Embassy in Nepal, in collaboration with the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, provided critical support for the MNF SOP 20 workshop and TEMPEST EXPRESS 40 exercise this month.
These initiatives brought together key military and civilian leaders to enhance Nepal’s disaster preparedness, response coordination, and humanitarian assistance operations.
The training programs focused on improving interagency collaboration, streamlining emergency response protocols, and reinforcing Nepal’s disaster management framework. Participants included representatives from government agencies, Nepali army, and civilian organizations, all working towards a more effective and unified approach to crisis management.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Deputy Chief of Mission Jason Meeks highlighted the importance of strong partnerships in disaster response, emphasizing that close coordination among stakeholders is essential to safeguarding communities and mitigating risks. He commended the participants for their commitment to strengthening Nepal’s resilience against natural disasters and other emergencies.
