Kanchanpur : Total 58 Nepali youths who were taken to India with a false promise of employment and later held hostage have been rescued. Among them, 23 were rescued from Rudrapur while 35 from Kaspur of Udhamsingh Nagar district of Uttarakhand, India.

The rescue was carried out with the collective efforts of a civil society organization ‘Kin Nepal/Kin India’, the Nepali embassy in India, the Nepal Police, and the Indian police. The rescued ones were brought back to Nepal via the western border point, Gaddachauki, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sagar Bohara, at the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.
