This week marked a significant transition in the leadership of the education sector’s development partnership. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Norway formally concluded their roles as Focal Point and Co-Focal Point, respectively, for the 2024/25 cycle.

During a joint review with government representatives and the Joint Financing Partners of the School Education Sector Plan (SESP), ADB and Norway shared key insights, achievements, and lessons learned from their tenure. Their leadership contributed to strengthening collaboration, coordination, and progress across the education sector.

The partnership now moves forward under new stewardship. The European Union (EU) has assumed the role of Focal Point, with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom serving as Co-Focal Point for the 2025/26 period. Their appointment reflects a continued commitment to collective action in advancing Nepal’s education goals.

We extend our appreciation to ADB and Norway for their dedicated leadership and warmly welcome the EU and FCDO. We look forward to sustained dialogue, shared learning, and impactful progress under their guidance.
