Kathmandu ,The U.S. Embassy in Nepal reaffirmed its leadership in advancing academic collaboration between the United States and Nepal during an orientation program organized at one of Nepal’s leading private schools. The event, which marked the start of the academic year, welcomed newly enrolled higher secondary students and faculty members.

Public Affairs Chief Mike Harker served as Guest of Honor and delivered keynote remarks underscoring the Embassy’s enduring commitment to educational diplomacy. The school previously collaborated with the Embassy to host an EducationUSA mini fair, further cementing its ties with U.S. academic initiatives.

In his address, Mr. Harker outlined the U.S. Embassy’s education priorities, emphasizing the importance of academic partnerships in fostering mutual understanding, people-to-people connections, and long-term engagement. He highlighted how such efforts not only support the aspirations of Nepali students but also advance American interests by positioning the United States as a preferred partner in Nepal’s dynamic education sector.

“Educational exchange is a powerful tool for building bridges between nations,” Harker stated. “Through ongoing engagement with leading academic institutions in Nepal, we aim to support the next generation of leaders who will drive regional prosperity and deepen the friendship between our countries.”

The U.S. Embassy continues to promote opportunities for Nepali students to study in the United States through initiatives like EducationUSA, and by working closely with schools, colleges, and universities across the country.

This latest engagement underscores the United States’ unwavering dedication to strengthening academic cooperation and investing in future leaders across Nepal.
