Inaruwa (Sunsari) : Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister, Sher Bahadur Deuba emphasized that the government should bring special programmes for the upliftment of the Urau community.
While addressing the Karma Pooja cultural festival in Bhokraha Narsingh Municipality-4 of Sunsari today, Former Prime Minister Deuba mentioned that the local and provincial governments should be more active in planning for the upliftment of the Urau community.
NC President Deuba pointed out the need for cooperation and coordination from local, provincial, and federal governments to enhance the educational quality of the community. He informed that the Nepali Congress has formed the Nepal Uranw Association for the upliftment of this community.
The programme was attended by central members of the Nepali Congress, including Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Rajiv Koirala, the mayor of Inaruwa Municipality Kedar Bhandari, Chairman of Bhokraha Nar Singh Rural Municipality Ajmal Akhtar Azad, Chairman of Kosi Rural Municipality Aiyub Ansari, and Chairman of Harinagar Rural Municipality Gafar Ansari, among others.
