Kathmandu – The embassies of Australia, Finland, France, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States have jointly expressed deep sadness over the violence that erupted in Kathmandu and other parts of Nepal on Monday.
In a joint statement, the embassies extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished a swift recovery to the injured.
The statement reaffirmed the governments’ strong support for universal rights to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression. It also urged all sides to exercise maximum restraint, prevent further escalation, and seek peaceful solutions while ensuring the protection of fundamental rights.
