Kathmandu, Feb 4: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has initiatives efforts to address public concerns related to the health insurance scheme. In this regard, the Prime Minister has called for a meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers this afternoon to discuss the matter with the concerned parties, according to the Office.
It may be noted that many hospitals across the country had decided to stop the providing service based on the health insurance scheme for allegedly not being made the previous dues from the Health Insurance Board. Health service providers have stated that it is difficult to provide services because they have not received payments for the services they provided in lieu of insurance scheme since a long time.
According to the Health Insurance Board, more than 10 billion rupees have yet to be paid to health institutions listed across the country.
