Kathmandu : Prime Minister Balendra Shah held discussion with the House of Representatives (HoR) members elected from the Bagmati province.
At the discussion held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today, diverse matters relating to the programmes feasible for execution within current fiscal year 2082/83 BS, sustainable infrastructure development, agriculture, tourism, health, education, good governance and various issues of social sector were discussed.

The parliament members presented the problems, potentials and prioritized plans of their constituencies, and also put forth several demands and suggestions concerning their respective constituencies.

During the discussion, HoR member elected from Dhading-1 Ashika Tamang demanded execution of a modern waste management system in Sisdole and Bancharedanda, effective monitoring of the ‘Green Sticker’ to control vehicle pollution, and a special education ‘package’ for the Chepang and Tamang communities.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, she emphasized the need to prioritize the construction of the Sitapaila-Dharke alternative route.
Similarly, Yubaraj Dulal, lawmaker from Sindhupalchowk, called for drafting of a law related to monkey control, protection of high-risk settlements along the Melamchi and Indrawati rivers, and resolution of payment issues related to the Melamchi drinking water project.

Badankumar Bhandari, MP from Kavrepalanchowk, urged the Prime Minister to advance the Sunkoshi-3 reservoir project, develop Dhulikhel as the capital of Bagmati Province, widen the Araniko Highway to four lanes, and establish a specialized regional hospital in Paanchkhal.

Likewise, Hari Dhakal, member of parliament from Chitwan-1, proposed a safari route with a bicycle lane along the Rapti River, and for irrigation expansion by building high dam.

Lawmaker elected from Kathmandu-4 Pukar Bam emphasized the need to implement the Pashupati Area master plan, improve transparency by creating a ‘National Budget Dashboard,’ and introduce an integrated infrastructure development act.

Dr Krishnahari Budhathoki, MP from Ramechhap, urged the government to stop migration occurring from the district, create employment, and complete stalled road projects on time.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Shah expressed the commitment to implement the issues raised by MPs gradually based on the budget and priorities.
The meeting concluded with the resolution to accelerate overall development of Bagmati Province through effective coordination among the federal, provincial, and local levels.
