For the recommendation, the Department had a field survey on the production cost- the cost of producing per unit of paddy and seeds, fertilizers, wages, inflation and market prices. With these in consideration, the Ministry was suggested the scientific price of the paddy.
The Ministry is learnt to propose the price of per quintal paddy by incorporating transportation cost and other relevant criteria.
Director General at the Department, Prakash Sanjel, informed that they would set the new price by adding a few parameters to the minimum support price set last year and the per unit production cost of paddy in various 22 districts of the country.
