Kathmandu, May 23: Nepal at present has witnessed the influence of the westerly winds and local winds as well as the low pressure area near the eastern territory.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, now there is generally cloudy weather in the Koshi province and remaining Himalayan and hilly areas.
The Madhesh province has partial cloud cover while the remaining Terai region has largely clear skies.

Moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is occurring in a few places of Gandaki province and one or two places in Sudurpashchim province. The Division indicated generally cloudy weather in the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces this afternoon.

Remaining Himalayan and hilly areas of other provinces, including Madhesh province will be partly cloudy while the rest of the Terai region will remain mainly clear.

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall and snowfall in some areas of the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, in a few areas of the Terai regions of the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Madhesh province, and in one or two areas of the hilly and Himalayan regions of Lumbini and Karnali provinces, it is stated.

Heavy rainfall is likely to take place in one or two areas of the hilly region of Gandaki province. Hotter days are likely in the hilly regions while heat waves are predicted in the Terai regions of Sudurpashchim and Lumbini provinces. Tonight, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces will generally be cloudy. Hilly and mountainous areas in the remaining provinces will be partly cloudy while remaining Terai areas will largely remain clear.

There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall and snowfall with thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, in the hilly and mountainous areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and in some areas of the mountainous region of Karnali province. Heavy rainfall is likely to occur in one or two places in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi province.
