Kathmandu: Ride-hailing company Uber has officially entered the Nepali market, marking a significant milestone in Nepal’s rapidly evolving digital economy.
Speaking at the official launch event, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Chelan Bliss highlighted the significance of Uber’s arrival, stating that the company’s decision to launch in Nepal reflects growing international confidence in the country’s future.

“Uber’s decision to launch here is a vote of confidence in Nepal’s trajectory — and in the Nepali people,” Bliss said.
The launch is expected to strengthen Nepal’s digital transformation by expanding consumer choice, encouraging innovation, and creating new economic opportunities. U.S. officials said the expansion of American companies into Nepal demonstrates continued support for the country’s economic development and digital growth.
