Janakpurdham, July 27: Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel, has echoed the need for structural reforms and quality enhancement in teaching-learning activities to improve Nepal’s education sector.
During an interaction with teachers at Janakpurdham-based Ramsworup Ramsagar Multiple Campus on Monday, the Minister urged the college to prioritize structural reforms and deliver quality education in line with the demands of the time. Before the discussion, he inspected the campus and reviewed its facilities.
“The campus, being one of the oldest in the country, has been obviously facing several challenges, ” he said, directing the management to enhance academic quality and ensure that all unwanted activities on the campus are prevented.
Instructing the college to promptly report to the Ministry in writing about physical infrastructure requirements, he pledged all possible support to address them.
The Minister also further instructed the campus management to implement an online billing system, maintain cleanliness on the campus premises, and address issues related to the campus library.
Campus Chief Prof Dr Basanta Kumar Karna briefed Education Minister Pokharel on the current situation of the campus, ongoing improvement efforts, and plans.
The Minister also interacted with students, who raised concerns over the lack of safe drinking water, and proper toilet facilities, poor sanitation on the campus, and the deteriorating condition of the library.
Earlier in the day, Minister Pokharel had distributed various types of sports equipment to students of Sankat Mochan Devsaran Ramrati Secondary School located in Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan City-4.
