Kathmandu : Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal has attended a meeting of the Group of Friends of Mediation in course of his participation in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The breakfast meeting of the Group on Thursday featured exchange of views on prevention of conflict, peaceful resolution of conflict and role of mediation in international peace and security.
The Group of Friends of Mediation was established in 2010. It is being co-chaired by Finland and Turkiye.
On the occasion, Foreign Minister Khanal informed that Nepal has been giving emphasis on peaceful resolution, dialogue and mediation, according to Minister’s secretariat. Khanal further viewed effective mediation along with dialogue and consensus has been further relevant for prevention and control of conflict in the changed global context.
