Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that there is a negative trend among the parties to the peace agreement towards the people’s war and ending the peace process. Receiving conclusion of a national consultation of relatives and families of the victims of the conflict on the ‘victim-centered approach and solution in the transitional justice process’ at the Prime Minister’s Residence Baluwatar today, he said that a negative trend has emerged in reference to the people’s war and ending the peace process among the companions of comprehensive peace agreement.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Dahal also noted that he has been trying to address the problems of all those involved in the people’s war and those who suffered from the conflict without calling them of any side or opposition. Dahal said that he also met with the families of policemen who fell victims to the conflict. Stating that he talked about Nepal’s peace process in the recently held UN General Assembly, Prime Minister Dahal said it has attracted the attention of the international community while also being appreciated. Dahal said completion of transitional justice process of Nepal will set a new example in the world and hence everyone should help to complete the peace process.

Recalling that he discussed Nepal’s peace process and challenges with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, Prime Minister Dahal said that the UNSG’s impending visit to Nepal will help to finalize the peace process and understand the environmental problems that Nepal is facing. “I am working to complete the peace process according to the agreement reached earlier at the political level. For this, I am trying to bring all the parties and others involved in the peace process to a consensus on the TRC Bill,” he said and added that opposition party has not been honest enough like the Maoist center and the government to complete the peace process.
