Kathmandu : The Development Action Committee and the fourth quarterly and annual progress review meeting of the fiscal year 2082/83 of the Ministry of Education and Sports has concluded that the overall progress of the ministry was satisfactory. It also decided to prioritize result-oriented performance, improvement in service delivery and structural transformation of the education sector in the coming year.
The meeting reviewed the progress achieved by the ministry and its subordinate bodies throughout the fiscal year, the implementation status of development projects, service delivery, budget expenditure, grievance handling and good governance.
Addressing the meeting, Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel, directed to effectively implement the ‘Sikai Chautari’ program with high priority from the coming fiscal year. He said that special attention should be paid to the effective implementation of the new curriculum, development of a result-oriented work culture and qualitative improvement in the education system.
Likewise, National Planning Commission member Reshu Aryal Dhungana stressed the need to implement the higher education restructuring framework quickly, make all programs result-oriented, and take effective initiatives to resolve teacher-related problems.
Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Chudamani Poudel, said that the ministry’s progress is satisfactory and now it is necessary to adopt a different working style and work in a way that shows clear results.
The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials of the ministry, heads of subordinate bodies, and representatives of the National Planning Commission and the Ministry of Finance.
