Kathmandu : Over 700 people, including 40 foreign nationals, affected by the flash flood in Bhotekoshi River were rescued as of Friday afternoon. The rescue operations were assisted by military helicopters.
According to Nepali Army’s Directorate of Public Relations and Information, 706 people, including 40 foreigners, were air rescued from Timure, Syafrubesi and Mailung areas of Rasuwa till afternoon. Among 40 foreigners, 29 are Indians, four Germans, four Chinese, two Koreans and one Omani.
Over 4,500 security personnel have been mobilized in the disaster-hit districts to respond to the disaster. All three security forces have launched joint operations for the search and rescue of and relief to the affected ones. Emergency medical assistance is standby.
