Kathmandu, May 31: The U.S. Embassy Nepal is organizing Ascent Summit 2026 today at Aloft Hotel, Kathmandu, bringing together climbers, expedition operators, mountain guides, rescue professionals, innovators, storytellers, tourism entrepreneurs, and industry leaders to discuss the future of mountaineering and adventure tourism.

The summit aims to go beyond the story of Mount Everest by exploring the realities of modern expeditions, the role of technology and innovation, responsible tourism practices, mountain safety, environmental sustainability, and international collaboration in the Himalayan region.

According to the organizers, the event will provide a unique platform for meaningful discussions, knowledge sharing, and networking among stakeholders involved in the adventure tourism and mountaineering sectors.

The summit is open to professionals, content creators, researchers, and individuals interested in Everest, expedition management, and the future of mountain tourism. Participation is free, although attendance is subject to a registration and selection process due to limited seating.
