Kathmandu, Aug 24: Minister for Agriculture, Forest, and Environment, Geeta Chaudhary has pledged to make the Lal Commission report regarding the Tikapur incident public. At an event organized by the Tharu Welfare Council on Sunday, she underscored the necessity of revealing the truth about the Tikapur incident to achieve a just resolution.
The Tharu Welfare Council commemorates Tikapur Uprising Day annually on Bhadra 7th through various events. This year, they held an interactive program titled “Tikapur Uprising, Demand Issues of the Movement and Its Way Forward,” along with discussions on “Common Questions of the Tharu Community in the Context of Nepal’s Constitution and the Need for Amendment.”
Minister Chaudhary utilized this platform to emphasize that the government is diligently addressing the concerns and demands of the Tharu community. She reiterated her dedication to championing their rights, identity, and justice. Additionally, she assured that the government is committed to releasing the Lal Commission report and addressing the legitimate requests of the Tharu community.
