Kathmandu, May 31: US Under-Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, Sarah B Rogers, arrived here today. During the visit, she will deliver her keynote speech at the Ascent Summit 2026 to be held in Kathmandu.
Similarly, she is engaging in the meetings with the senior government officials, members of the American Chamber of Commerce and alumni of US government exchange and education programmes, the US Embassy said.
Rogers is also scheduled to address issues of freedom of expression and digital freedoms, highlighting their importance as foundations of an advanced society and drivers of economic prosperity. Visit to historic Patan Durbar Square and observance of seven heritage sites under the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) are also in her to-do list.
Under Secretary Rogers’ visit to Nepal reaffirms the United States’ commitment to strengthening the longstanding US-Nepal partnership through expanded economic cooperation, innovation and people-to-people ties.
